GINETEX Membership profiles

 

 

There are two ways to join GINETEX:

 

  • as a National Member, an Observer Member or an Associated Member
  • as a Global user or a Global Reproducer


Depending on whether you are an Apparel and/or a Textile Organization/Association, an Apparel or Textile Company, a Retailer, a Communications Agency, a Textile Laboratory, etc., different types of memberships are available for you to access and use the GINETEX care labelling symbols, based on the ISO 3758:2012 care labelling standard.

 

By joining GINETEX, your organization or company will be invited to sign an Intellectual Property License Agreement for the use of the GINETEX care labelling symbols, and will have to pay an annual fee.

 

 


National Member requirements

 

Your organization will have to:

  • be an independent National Committee for Textile/Apparel Care Labelling
  • have a valid legal structure according to the law of your country
  • be represented by all branches of the textile chain
  • have authority and capacity to enforce GINETEX decisions
  • recognise GINETEX‘s ownership of the trademarks
  • pay an annual fee

 

This membership profile will allow the national entity to represent GINETEX in its national country, to protect and promote the use of GINETEX care labelling symbols to their national textile and apparel brands. GINETEX will accept only one National Member per country.

Observer Member requirements

 

Your organization will have to:

  • be a Standardization Body or
  • be a Private Organization with a special interest in care labelling or
  • be a Governmental Organization
  • pay an annual fee
  • undergo a period of three years before taking advantage of a full GINETEX membership

 

 

Your advantages

 

  • participate in the Governing Body and General Meetings
  • access to GINETEX expertise
  • networking opportunities
  • possibility to create a specific Committee during the period of observer membership

 


Associated Member requirements

 

Your organization will have to:

  • be a Standardization Body or
  • be a Private Organization with a special interest in care labelling or
  • be a Governmental Organization
  • pay an annual fee
  • undergo a period of three years before taking advantage of a full GINETEX membership

 

 

Your advantages

 

  • participate in the Governing Body and General Meetings
  • access to GINETEX expertise
  • networking opportunities
  • possibility to create a specific Committee during the period of observer membership

 


Global User requirements

 

Your organization will have to:

  • be a multinational company (or any company who does not have a National Member representing GINETEX in its country)
  • have branches in different countries
  • procure and sell articles worldwide
  • use the registered care labelling symbols on textile products
  • pay an annual fee

 

 

Your advantages

 

  • have the right to use the GINETEX care labelling symbols worldwide
  • make use of a strong brand recognized by producers, retailers and consumers
  • be able to profit from a worldwide system coordination
  • benefit from the Technical Booklet: profit from the technical specification and conditions of use for a correct care labelling
  • receive all the latest information on changes and additions to the system, new symbols or updates, directly
  • benefit from a network providing solutions for care labelling issues
  • get the care labelling symbol graphics
  • be able to submit proposals for changes and additions

 


Global Reproducer requirements

 

Your organization will have to:

  • be a label producer or
  • be a software supplier or
  • be an appliance manufacturer (washing machines, tumblers etc.) reproduce or
  • supply the graphics of the registered care labelling symbols
  • pay an annual fee

 

 

Your advantages

 

  • have the right to reproduce or provide the GINETEX care labelling symbols worldwide
  • make use of a strong brand recognized by producers, retailers and consumers
  • be able to profit from a worldwide system coordination
  • receive the latest information on changes and additions to the system, new symbols or updates, directly
  • benefit from a network providing solutions for care labelling issues
  • get the care labelling symbol graphics
